HENNGE updates its SaaS authentication platform, HENNGE One, and launches HENNGE Lock, which enables multi-factor authentication.2020.11.17

HENNGE K.K. (Shibuya, Tokyo, President and CEO: Kazuhiro Ogura) has updated its SaaS authentication platform (IDaaS), HENNGE One, to solve password-related issues that companies are facing. At the same time, HENNGE Lock, which enables multi-factor authentication with one-time passwords and has been released for iOS and Android.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the number of companies implementing remote work and the use of SaaS. In response, the number of users and passwords managed by companies has also increased. Single sign-on, which manages users and passwords in one place, is getting attention as a way to solve the troubles of user and password management, but passwords themselves contain their own difficulties.

■Password Issues
Difficult to remember the password for each service
Information leaks caused by reusing same passwords
The burden of resetting forgotten passwords

These challenges cannot be solved by changing passwords regularly or setting complicated passwords.

■A world without passwords
In order to solve the problems that accompany passwords, use of other authentication methods (possession information and biometric information) instead of human-dependent knowledge information (username and password) authentication has been attracting attention. In addition, multi-factor authentication (MFA) -a combination of multiple authentication methods instead of just a single authentication method - is also used.

HENNGE provides multi-factor authentication, and by linking it with client-based biometrics authentication increasingly used in the consumer market such as Windows Hello, Touch ID or Face ID, it will create a password-free world.

As the first step to create a secure environment without passwords, we are releasing HENNGE Lock, a new feature of HENNGE One. With HENNGE One and HENNGE Lock, companies can use a user's smartphone or smartwatch as an additional authentication factor to get centralized, password-free login to over 150 SaaS, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Box, LINE WORKS and Slack.

By implementing passwordless authentication, organizations can eliminate the risk of password stealing, reduce password management costs, and get the best user experience ever.
