Announcement

HENNGE converts the equivalent of 100% of the electricity used in its Tokyo headquarters office to renewable energy.

HENNGE K.K. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazuhiro Ogura) announces that it has switched the equivalent of 100% of the electricity used in its Tokyo Head Office offices (Daiwa Shibuya Square 4, 5, and 11F) to renewable energy “Green Power” through the purchase of “Green Power Certificates”.

This switch to green power was made possible through the purchase of “Green Power Certificates” provided by GREENa Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, URL: https://www.energygreen.co.jp/). By covering the annual electricity consumption (300,000 kWh) at the Tokyo Head Office with green power generated from biomass, HENNGE will contribute to the spread of renewable energy, the prevention of global warming, and the reduction of global environmental impact.

HENNGE will continue to promote the use of renewable energy and promote environmentally friendly initiatives.

About Green Power
Green power is electricity generated from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, biomass, hydroelectric, geothermal, and other natural resources. It is considered to have “environmental value” because there is no concern about resource depletion and greenhouse gas emissions are low during power generation.

About the Green Power Certificate System
The Green Power Certificate System is a system in which the “environmental value” is traded in the form of “Green Power Certificates” certified by a third-party certification organization (Japan Quality Assurance Organization) by the certificate issuing company. By purchasing a Green Power Certificate, a company can be considered to be using renewable energy sources to generate the electricity it purchases, even if it does not have its own power generation facilities.
