In Response to The Trend of de-PPAP, the Cloud Security Service for Educational Institutions “HENNGE One for Education” Adds Email Security Function 2023.04.07
HENNGE K.K. (headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo, Representative Director, Chief Executive Officer: Kazuhiro Ogura, “HENNGE”) is pleased to announce that the license content of “HENNGE One for Education”, the company’s cloud security service for educational institutions, will be expanded to include an email security feature that supports "de-PPAP" from May 8, 2023.
In recent years, educational institutions such as school boards and school corporations have been increasingly utilizing cloud services. In universities in particular, students and faculty have been using cloud email services such as Exchange Online and Gmail. Within the domestic email security domain, there is a growing trend to abolish "PPAP" (the method of sending a ZIP file with a password, then sending the password separately via email), which has been widely used up until now, due to issues such as high-security risk. After 2020, the Cabinet Office, the Cabinet Secretariat, domestic corporations, and other organizations, including The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), which is in charge of school corporations, is also working towards the elimination of PPAP. It is expected that educational institutions will also be required to move away from PPAP in the near future.
With the addition of the email security function to the HENNGE One for Education license, educational institutions using HENNGE One for Education will be able to securely and easily implement measures such as PPAP removal, email misdirection countermeasures, and large file transmission/reception. The existing functions of integrating IDs/passwords for multiple cloud services and preventing unauthorized access through access control will also continue to be available.
With the addition of the email security function to “HENNGE One for Education” license content, educational institutions using “HENNGE One for Education” will be able to safely and easily implement measures such as de-PPAP, misdelivery countermeasures, and large file transmission/reception. The existing functions of IDs/passwords integration for multiple cloud services and preventing unauthorized access through access control will also continue to be available.
HENNGE will continue to support the convenient and secure implementation of SaaS service at educational institutions through leveraging the sales and technical expertise of “HENNGE One”, which has been adopted in more than 2,300 private companies.
In addition, HENNGE will introduce “HENNGE One for Education” at EDIX Tokyo, one of Japan’s largest education trade shows, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 10 (Wed) to May 12 (Fri), 2023.
