HENNGE Launches “HENNGE Secure Download for Box”, The Non-PPAP Solution That Integrates Content Cloud “Box” 2023.05.16
HENNGE K.K. (headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo, Representative Director, Chief Executive Officer: Kazuhiro Ogura, “HENNGE”) is pleased to announce that the company is going to launch “HENNGE Secure Download for Box”, a non-PPAP solution, on June 12, 2023. This solution combines the email misdirection prevention function of “HENNGE One”, the cloud security service that supports the “safety” and “convenience” of the working environment, and the content cloud “Box”, provided by Box Japan.
In recent years, there has been a growing movement to abolish "PPAP" (a method of sending a ZIP file with password, and then sending the password separately via email), which had been widely used as a countermeasure against e-mail misdirection. Since the declaration of the abolition of PPAP in November 2020 by the Cabinet Office and the Cabinet Secretariat, due to the rising threat of malware (malicious programs) that uses email as its transmission route, such as Emotet, there was a shift of focus to an alternative method for sending files via email called “non-PPAP”.
HENNGE has been offering HENNGE Secure Download, a de-PPAP solution that automatically uploads attachments to HENNGE One when sending emails, as a function of HENNGE One for some time. Now, by using “HENNGE Secure Download for Box”, users will be able to upload attachments to Box instead of HENNGE One when sending emails.
As a result, companies that used to send a file externally by attaching the shared URL on Box to an email can now send the file by simply attaching it directly to the email. This allows companies to manage their sent files on Box, not only freeing them from the hassle of issuing URLs and generating passwords, but also actualizing “de-PPAP”. In addition, when utilizing together with HENNGE One’s email misdirection prevention function, the file-sharing process could become more secure. Email recipients can download the uploaded files simply by entering the shared URL and authentication code issued by HENNGE Secure Download Box.
HENNGE will continue to contribute to the transformation of corporate DX by offering solutions that provide both security and convenience.
■ About HENNGE Secure Download for Box
HENNGE Secure Download for Box is a non-PPAP solution that combines the email misdirection prevention function of cloud security service “HENNGE One” with the features of content cloud “Box”. Utilizing HENNGE One’s email misdirection prevention function, this solution allows for secure file sharing. The sender simply sends the file as an attachment to an email as before, then the file would be automatically uploaded to Box. The recipient will receive the text and a PDF containing the shared URL. Using the authentication code sent in a separate email, the sent file can be downloaded. If the sender attaches the wrong file, the URL can be disabled even after the file has been sent.
Offer plan: Offered as an option for HENNGE One Basic / HENNGE One Pro / HENNGE DLP Price: 200 yen per user per month
