HENNGE K.K. is pleased to announce its participation in the SATOUMI Coral Project, facilitated by Thankslab Inc. and its subsidiary, SATOUMI Coral Project Inc. Thankslab Inc., an Okinawa-based startup, supports the employment of people with disabilities through a vision that combines welfare with IT. The project has two objectives: to protect the natural environment through coral reef restoration and to create new work opportunities for people with disabilities.
The project focuses on coral reef restoration by transplanting land-cultivated corals into the ocean to combat bleaching caused by climate change and other factors. As part of this initiative, HENNGE has hired individuals with disabilities in Naha-shi, Okinawa, who work at the Thankslab facility with specialized company support. Their tasks include practical work such as managing the aquarium environment using digital tools and land-based coral farming.
Through the project, HENNGE seeks to improve society by enabling everyone to play an active role.
