Many of our business partners have introduced HENNGE One as a PPAP measure, and through hands-on experience, we have found the functions and ease of use to be excellent.

— Please tell us about the use of HENNGE One.
We are planning to start company-wide use of HENNGE One in November 2022 as a PPAP countermeasure and as a countermeasure against misdirected mail.
— Please tell us about the number of users and the functions used.
We plan to have about 400 users in total. The main functions used are the “Automatic Attachment URL Conversion” function (HENNGE Secure Download) for sending files by e-mail, and the “Large File Transfer” function (HENNGE Secure Transfer) for exchanging large files such as videos and photos, and HENNGE E-Mail DLP, a function for temporarily suspending outgoing e-mails.
Regarding automatic URL conversion of attachments, some clients may not be able to receive e-mails containing links (URLs), so e-mails addressed to such clients’ domains are sent in the normal attachment format.
In addition, we set a hold time of 10 minutes for all outgoing e-mails to be sent outside the company. We decided on the hold time based on trends at other companies and advice from HENNGE.
— Do you have any plans for future development?
For company-wide deployment, we plan to prepare a user manual and conduct hands-on training sessions for security education to ensure correct understanding and use of the system.
We will also listen to users’ reactions and requests, and may change, for example, the hold time if it needs to be improved. In addition, we would like to try out various uses for receiving files through the large file transfer function. In the future, we would like to consider introducing HENNGE One’s mail archiving function (HENNGE E-Mail Archive).
— How did you come to introduce HENNGE One?
We consider information security measures to be an important management issue for maintaining our social responsibility as a company and our corporate value. In particular, since we handle sensitive customer information, we want to reduce human error by utilizing mechanisms and systems.
We have three major goals in mind when we introduced HENNGE One. The first purpose is to prevent PPPAP (sending file attachments with passwords).
Until now, we have been sending files with passwords as attachments to e-mails, but recently there has been an increase in the number of business partners who are unable to receive files with passwords. In the first place, it was a bit of a hassle to set passwords for attached files, and if we had to decide whether or not to set passwords depending on the recipient, it could reduce the efficiency of our business operations. To resolve this situation and realize an environment where files can be sent securely and efficiently via e-mail, we introduced the “Automatic Attachment URL Conversion” function.
And the second objective is to strengthen measures against misdirection and information leaks by providing an environment in which large files can be sent safely and securely. Since we had not previously provided a commercial service for securely sending and receiving large files, we decided to use the introduction of HENNGE One as an opportunity to introduce a large file transfer function as an official company service.
And the third purpose is to strengthen the countermeasure against misdirected transmissions by setting the send hold time, which can only be set to 30 seconds by the standard function of Google Workspace (Gmail), to any desired amount of time.
— Why did you choose HENNGE One?
Many of our business partners have adopted HENNGE One, and we have received e-mails with URLs to incoming files and exchanged large-volume data using the large-volume file transfer function, so we felt that HENNGE One would be highly effective. This was the impetus for introducing HENNGE One. After actually starting to consider the introduction of HENNGE One and comparing it with other services, we decided to adopt it based on the following points.
⚫︎ Excellent usability for both source and destination operations
⚫︎ The service and the company are well known and trusted, so the recipient is less likely to have a sense of distrust or anxiety, and can use the service with peace of mind.
⚫︎ The service is trustworthy because of its abundant introduction results and case studies
⚫︎ One-stop service that provides not only anti-PPAP measures, but also a secure environment for sending and receiving files with transmission hold and forwarding functions.
⚫︎ High cost performance
⚫︎ The service is operated on the AWS (Amazon Web Services) platform, so the service is highly stable and reliable.
⚫︎ Configuration can be changed for each domain
— Did you encounter any difficulties when introducing the service?
From the time we started using the service until we started using it, all support was provided online, and we did not experience any inconvenience. We did need to make some changes to the settings that were dependent on our environment, but the prompt and courteous support helped us to resolve them smoothly.
— Please tell us about the benefits you expect from the introduction of HENNGE One.
HENNGE One enables us to implement PPAP removal measures without requiring senders and recipients to go through troublesome work procedures. In addition, we believe that it will strengthen the environment for safe exchange of large files and countermeasures against accidental transmissions. For employees, the reduction of work and stress involved in sending files, whether as email attachments or file transfers, is also a major expected effect of the introduction of the system. On the other hand, from the administrator’s point of view, the fact that we did not have to spend the cost and effort required for implementation because it is SaaS is also considered an important benefit.
— Please let us know your evaluation, requests, and expectations for HENNGE.
We expect HENNGE to continue to provide us with security information on e-mail and file transfer, and information on the latest trends.
