The space constructed by computers and networks, primarily the internet, is referred to as “cyberspace.” In modern society, cyberspace functions as an indispensable infrastructure for daily life, supporting various sectors such as finance, healthcare, and transportation. Simultaneously, threats posed by attacks targeting cyberspace, known as “cyberattacks,” are rapidly increasing.

This document explores specific measures, policies, and the construction of security strategies aimed at ensuring the safety of cyberspace. Our analysis is based on two key publications from the National Police Agency of Japan: “Chapter 3: Securing the Safety of Cyberspace” from the Police White Paper 2024, issued on July 26, 2024, and “The Situation of Threats in Cyberspace in the First Half of 2024,” published on September 19, 2024.
