This collaborative platform brings together faculty and corporate partners to address technical challenges, explore research themes, and investigate practical AI applications for products, services, and society, while developing further studies.
The UTokyo–Startup Collaborative AI Research Forum convened for its inaugural meeting on May 28, 2026. Running through March 2027, the forum organizes participants from the university and industry into dedicated groups to explore research themes, potential societal applications, and joint research opportunities.
Fixstars Corporation leads the corporate secretariat for the forum, with participation from executives and engineers representing 21 startups, including HENNGE. Participating companies are contributing by providing business challenges, domain expertise, and shareable data.
Covering a broad spectrum of AI disciplines, including LLMs, AI agents, voice processing, avatar technology, infrastructure and inference, security and governance, algorithms, and multimodality, the forum brings together faculty and graduate students from IST with industry partners. These joint groups will focus on developing research themes and fostering new collaborations.
As part of this open innovation initiative, HENNGE aims to advance its “HENNGE One” cloud security service and establish a foundation for the safe and effective use of AI.
HENNGE will expand the range of SaaS that integrates with HENNGE One to support companies with IT applications and foster innovation.
