HENNGE Launches “HENNGE Password Manager” to Centrally Manage Non-SSO Credentials and Shared IDs — Delivering secure storage, policy-driven sharing, and streamlined operations across SaaS and internal system accounts

HENNGE K.K. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Kazuhiro Ogura) announces the availability of “HENNGE Password Manager,” a credential management solution within its cloud security platform “HENNGE One,” tailored for web services and internal systems without native single sign-on (SSO) support. Key features include individual-level login management—even for shared accounts—and secure identity sharing, supported by robust security measures to prevent critical data breaches.
HENNGE Password Manager becomes available on October 1, 2026, accessible through HENNGE One’s top-tier plan “HENNGE One Ultra,” as well as the “IdP Pro” plan and others. Dedicated features for managing shared accounts are scheduled for release shortly.

As cloud adoption expands across enterprises, organizations increasingly leverage SSO to access multiple services through a single login.
However, many corporate environments still rely on SaaS applications and internal systems that do not support SSO. As a result, employees often store IDs and passwords in local browser password managers or share them via Excel spreadsheets, leaving IT departments without proper oversight and control.
Furthermore, using weak passwords or reusing credentials across multiple applications presents significant security risks. If left unaddressed, these security gaps can lead to sensitive data leaks from local devices and serve as entry points for company-wide cyberattacks such as ransomware.

Key Features of HENNGE Password Manager
HENNGE Password Manager balances security with usability, closing the gap between current security practices and ideal governance without adding extra operational burden on users.
Its core advantage lies in securely managing shared accounts for systems and services that do not support SSO. Combined with HENNGE Access Control, the complementary SSO-based identity management tool, the new feature covers virtually all credentials and is built to scale seamlessly as companies grow.

1. Bulk Distribution of User-Specific Credentials per Service by Administrators Administrators can bulk-distribute user-specific credentials (IDs and passwords) on a per-service basis.

  • Post-Distribution Management: Administrators can bulk-update distributed passwords at any time, or revoke credentials to suspend access immediately.
  • Password-Hidden Distribution: Credentials can be distributed while keeping passwords completely hidden from users. Users cannot view or copy the passwords, and instead log in seamlessly via a browser extension auto-fill feature.

2. Secure Team-Based Sharing of Shared Account Credentials
Credentials for shared accounts can be securely shared across flexible teams, including departments, units, or project groups. (Note: This feature is scheduled for release in the near future.)

  • User Onboarding and Offboarding: Access can be granted or revoked with a single click as employees join, move between teams, or leave the company. This minimizes operational burden while maintaining proper access controls as the organization evolves.
  • Instant Updates: When a shared password is updated, the change takes effect immediately for all team members, granting them instant access with the new password.
  • Password-Hidden Distribution: Credentials can be distributed while keeping passwords completely hidden from users. Users cannot view or copy the passwords, and instead log in seamlessly via a browser extension auto-fill feature.

3. Robust Security Designed to Prevent Exploitation of Leaked Data
HENNGE Password Manager employs a Zero-Knowledge Architecture, where part of the key required to decrypt passwords is stored locally on the user’s device. Even in the unlikely event that data stored in HENNGE Password Manager is compromised, it remains theoretically impossible for third parties to view the underlying information.

4. Browser Extension to Assist Password Management

Users can install a browser extension on their PCs to effortlessly use HENNGE Password Manager. It supports features such as automatic saving of login credentials, one-click generation of strong passwords, and auto-filling saved login information directly on websites.
In addition to the browser extension, users and administrators can also manage login credentials and generate strong passwords directly through the management console by logging into the HENNGE Password Manager service.

Primary Use Cases
HENNGE Password Manager resolves key operational and security challenges associated with systems and services that cannot be integrated into SSO:

  • Challenge: The high administrative effort required to distribute unique IDs and passwords to individual users for internal systems.
    • Solution: Administrators can bulk-distribute user-specific credentials using HENNGE Password Manager while keeping password details completely hidden from end users.
  • Challenge: Security risks associated with shared accounts, such as credential leaks resulting from sharing via spreadsheets or chat applications—or physical sticky notes attached to displays visible to third parties.
    • Solution: Administrators can securely share credentials with users without exposing the actual password details.*
  • Challenge: The ongoing operational burden of granting or revoking shared account access whenever employees join, change roles, or leave the company.
    • Solution: Administrators can easily manage shared accounts simply by adding or removing users from group-based folders within HENNGE Password Manager.*
  • Challenge: Uncontrolled credential management resulting from users relying on their local web browser password managers.
    • Solution: HENNGE Password Manager provides a centralized, highly secure repository for all corporate credentials.
  • Challenge: The continuous IT helpdesk burden of resetting lost passwords, especially for custom-built in-house systems.
    • Solution: By automating password storage and autofill, HENNGE Password Manager eliminates forgotten passwords at the source, significantly reducing the workload on IT departments.

*Note: Shared account management features are scheduled for release in the near future.
